Project Details

A private investor invited Dar Al-Shaheen Consultants to design a mixed-use development in the holly city of Makkah. The Project is located at a prominent location in Aziziyah on a 10,000 sq meters site. It comprised of a pedestal and three independent hotel towers. In addition to the two car parking basements, The Ground and mezzanine floors are dedicated to the shopping mall. The prayer hall is located on the third mezzanine, a restaurant and cafe floor, and twelve floors for hotel rooms and suites.

The designer sought to create harmony between the context and the architectural form. The proposed form aims to reflect the proposed functions and to facilitate the movement of heavy pedestrian traffic to and from the Project. The project façade is of curtain walls covered with a second skin of metal mesh and multiple balconies that echo the (mashrabiyas) of Hijazi architecture.
